Double Adirondack Chair Set

He made the prototype from 11 pieces of timber cut from a single piece of wood, which caught the attention of his carpenter friend and hunting partner, Harry Bunnell.

It isn’t confirmed, but the presumption is that Bunnell patented Lee’s design, called it The Westport Chair and sold it for his own commercial gain.

We presume the hunting trips stopped pretty soon after that.

The term Adirondack Chair is reportedly supposed to have been coined by the staff at a Care Home for tuberculosis patients overlooking the Adirondack Mountains who bought Lee’s design from Bunnell on the basis that it was perfect for their residents to sit outside in and soak up the medicinal powers of the clean mountain air.

Who knows, but whatever the story it’s a damn fine chair that’s hugely popular today …

This Chair Set is made from Grade A Teak and includes a lovely little Teak Side Table and two Teak Ottomans for the ultimate outdoor relaxation and style.
